UPDATE FROM GOLF AUSTRALIA
Posted on: 24 March
Good afternoon Members
We wish to advise Members that there have been further developments regarding our ability for the golf course to remain operating.
Please see below communication I have received from Golf Australia who are currently advocating on behalf of QLD Golf Clubs.
Dear Tracey-Lea
Presently it applies if the course or facility is licensed, it must be completely closed immediately.
I have been in discussions today with David Mackie, Director-General, Department of Justice and Attorney-General and the matter is in current discussion with the Health Department and we are hopeful that QLD golf courses will be allowed to stay open as is the case across the other States.
As soon as we hear back formally from the Director-General we will provide an update to QLD Clubs.
Whilst this is disappointing for all involved, we are hopeful of a positive outcome and will update you accordingly. At this point in time, all parts of the business are directed to close immediately. We respectfully request that members do not access the course until the government clears us to do so. The consequences include fines to the licencee.
Yours sincerely
Tracey-Lea
